There are 3000 billion trees on Earth. Without the presence of humans, this figure would be of the order of 5800 billion. It would take 1200 billion trees to be planted to store two thirds of the CO₂ emissions emitted by humans since the 19ᵗʰ century. The good news is that there is still space available to plant this massive amount of trees.
Many African girls don't go to or don't finish primary school because of poverty. Boys often have a priviledged access to school. For 15-24 years old in Sierra Leone, the literacy rate is 70.5% for male, and that only 52.1% for female. This places girls in a very difficult situation on the long term.
